INLAND TRANSPORTATION

Benin is bordered by Togo to the West, Nigeria to the East, and Burkina Faso and Niger to the north. With the support of its partners, Benin has been able to make important economic and structural reforms such as developing port infrastructures (Container Terminals) in order to become one of the preferred transit port for landlocked countries especially Niger.

Any cargo that is too large, too specialised or just too tricky for regular transport, needs a team that knows the pitfalls, and understands what’s needed in order to ensure a smooth and expeditious transit.

This is especially important in West Africa where the final delivery site may be many miles from the port, along unmade roads and perhaps across borders into the landlocked countries.

Our dedicated team regularly arranges the safe and fast handling of shipments throughout Benin and across borders into Niger, servicing regular shipments to Niamey, Maradi, Zinder and Agades. We have regular shipments of containers, moving on average 500 TEU per year to Niger on behalf of the construction, aid relief and project sectors.

With our own representative office in Niamey, we are able to service any type of project, whether the cargo is heavy lift, out of gauge, break bulk or containerised shipments.

We have first class transport operator insurance cover with the  TT Club for extra peace of mind.

ESTIMATED TRANSIT TIMES FOR CONTAINERS FROM COTONOU ARE:

Cotonou    –     Niamey     1029 km       6 days
Cotonou    –     Maradi      1386 km       7 days
Cotonou    –     Zinder       1621 km       7 days
Cotonou    –     Agades      1654 km       8 days
